The Atera Valley is a picturesque 4 mi (6km) gorge, known for its emerald green water and numerous waterfalls. The colour of the water comes from the rocks that line the river bed.
The
valley is also known for its beautiful flowers: rhododendrons, azaleas, clove
cherry and coptis. The two temples in
the area date back to the 14th century.
