Bow Falls is a popular attraction located just beneath the grand old Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel.
From a viewpoint nearby, the Bow River can be seen twisting through the mountain bends until it reaches the falls.
There is something special in all seasons; in winter, the falls often freeze over completely, the water suspended in icicles that glint in the weak midwinter sun.
In summer, the falls are out in full force as glacial water feeds the river and it crashes dramatically over the cataracts.
