Gifu Castle, Nakasendo

Perched up on a hill, the current Gifu Castle is a reconstruction of a 16th century castle that was bombed during WWII.

An observation deck on the top floor affords stunning views of the Nagara River and the city of Nagoya.

Besides a trail, the castle can be accessed via a cable car from Gifu Park.

The park is know for its seasonal displays, especially its autumn colours.
