Moresby, Kokoda, Challenge Completed!

Bomana War Cemetery is the final resting place of 3,826 Commonwealth soldiers of which 704 remain unidentified.  It also includes 438 British Royal Artillermen, prisoners of the Japanese after Singapore’s fall who died in captivity on Solomon Islands.

Within the grounds stands a memorial commemorating 740 men who fought in Papua and have no known graves.

I loved doing this challenge!  I knew nothing about this war campaign and conflict between the Aussies and the Japanese.  The trekking conditions were horrendous.  I can't even imagine the hour-by-hour, day-to-day challenges.  Amazing troops!
