Serra dos Orgaos National Park, Estrada Real

Established in 1939 as Brazil’s third national park, the Serra dos Orgaos was created to protect the mountain range and the headwaters of the rivers’ flow.  The park receives high rainfall and humidity, resulting in rick vegetation with more than 2,800 plant species recorded.

The mountain range has 15 peaks, with the most famous being ‘God’s Finger’ because it resembles a left hand with its index finger pointing towards the sky.
