The mountain village of O Cebreiro is home to distinctive traditional houses. These oval -shaped houses built from slate and topped with a thatched roof are called “pallozas’ and are of ancient Celtic origin.
Similar designs can be found in the archaeology of other Celtic regions around Europe’s Atlantic coast, showing the cultural continuity this region of Galicia has with its ancient roots. The locals also claim that the church of O Cebreiro contains the famed Holy Grail.
