Bute Park, Wales Coast Path

Bute Park once formed part of the grounds of nearby Cardiff Castle.  In 1947, the castle’s owner, the 4th Marquis of Bute, donated these gardens to the city and the people of Cardiff.

Today the park (and its environs across the river Llandaff Fields and Pontcanna Fields) forms a large complex of gardens, sports fields and woodland.

One of the greatest privileges of living in the Welsh capital is to walk through this park regularly, watching the colours change as the seasons pass.
