The Shoshone Falls are often referred to as the Niagaras of the West. In fact, standing at the height of 212 ft (65 m), they are quite a bit taller than Niagara.
What’s really remarkable about this gorgeous cascade is the basalt canyon it falls through.
The
rocks make all sorts of strange formations, and their igneous make-up catches
the light, turning the surface a variety of soft, unexpected colours.
