Fifteen million years ago, a meteorite crashed into what would become Bavaria, creating the depression what now cradles the lovely town of Nordlingen. Over the years, Nordlingen developed and grew, breaching the boundaries of its crater home.
Today, glittering diamonds created by the meteor’s impact are found embedded in the crater’s rim, small gifts left behind by the town’s founder.
