This strikingly odd-looking aquatic predator is the giant river otter. The largest otter in the world, he can grow to an astonishing size, up to 6ft (1.8m) in length. Like most otter species, they are highly social and playful animals, living in large groups of up to 20 individuals and communicating with a diverse set of vocalisations.
They are also brave fighters, taking on and then eating some of the most dangerous animals found in the rainforest, including caimans and anacondas.
