Situated
in the Valley of Ten Peaks, Moraine Lake is fed by glacial melt, gradually
filling as the year approaches summer.
By
June, the lake if full, causing its bed to refract the sunlight, in turn making
the water take on a bright azure colour.
A
fantastic scene forms – a perfectly blue lake fringed by a majestic pine forest
that climbs up the mountainside until the peaks of the Seven Sisters break free
from the tree line to stand proudly above it all.
